Ketamine FAQs

What is Ketamine Therapy?

Ketamine therapy uses low doses of ketamine, delivered intravenously, to help treat mood disorders like depression, PTSD, anxiety, and chronic pain when other treatments haven’t worked.

Ketamine targets the brain’s glutamate system, helping to restore neural connections and improve mood. This is a different approach from traditional antidepressants and may offer rapid relief for some individuals.

You’ll relax in a private room while the ketamine is administered via IV over 40 to 60 minutes. We monitor your vital signs throughout the session and provide a recovery period afterward.

Some patients experience mild dissociation, lightheadedness, or dreamlike sensations during treatment. These effects are normal and wear off soon after the session ends.

A typical initial series involves 6 infusions over 2–3 weeks. After that, booster infusions may be scheduled based on your progress and needs.

No. For your safety, someone else must drive you home following your session, as the medication may impair coordination and alertness.

Yes. Ketamine therapy is medically supervised and administered in a controlled setting. Side effects are usually mild and temporary, and our staff is trained to ensure your safety throughout the process.

Currently, ketamine infusions are not covered by most insurance plans because they are considered off-label. However, we’re happy to discuss payment options and answer any questions.
